q What document or section are you testing? Describe briefly. q What is the overall objective or purpose of the document or section? q Describe the phase of development for this test (design, development, field evaluation). q What elements of the test (test points) will you be testing (tasks, terminology, design features)? q Describe the test type (performance, understanding, read and locate). q Describe the performance objectives for the user tasks and actions. q Name and describe the evaluators. In particular, tell how closely your evaluator resembles your actual users and what compromises you will make in using him or her instead. What extra background will you need to supply for these evaluators? q Name and describe the testers. Tell what materials you need to provide for conducting the test. q What gathering methods will work best for your test (talk-aloud protocol, unobtrusive observation, interviews, watch and take notes). q Describe any special test materials you will have to write for this test (instructions, authorization forms, performance record sheets, product information, scenarios). q Describe the test environment (user’s site, neutral site, testing lab, other). q Narrative: Tell what will happen, step-by-step, during the test. Try to envision it. q Explain what you intend to do with the results, especially naming who will take responsibility for reworking the documentation.
